RECREATIONAL: HAPPY HOUR BOOZE & BLING MAKE A RING (BYOB)
Who says booze and fire don’t go hand in hand?? Handle both in this fun (and safe) workshop where you will be introduced to the basics of jewelry making while sipping on your preferred beverage of choice. You will learn how to make a simple ring out of copper or brass using the techniques of sawing, soldering, and polishing and have the opportunity to customize your ring with metal stamps. This is a great workshop to relieve that stressful day at work or just to get together with a few friends and have fun learning a new skill. We'll bring the bling, you bring the booze! BEGINNER: SILVER RING FABRICATION
Students will learn basic fabrication techniques to construct a silver ring with a design of your choice. You will be introduced to techniques such as sawing, soldering, polishing, and various surface finishes. Walk away with a ring that you can wear right away! This is a fun and informative class where students will get a basic understanding of metalsmithing & a taste of the fabrication possibilities. This workshop is limited to 5 students. BEGINNER: SILVER STACKING RINGS
In this workshop, you will get to create and customize three stacking rings, making one epic stack! You will be shown step by step how to fabricate the ring and will learn fundamental silversmithing techniques such as sawing, soldering, sizing, and applying finishes. Tools and materials will be supplied. No experience necessary. Please be sure to read our class cancellation policy before registering.

EXPANSION: SILVERSMITHING JEWELRY 101
In this 5 week course, students will learn the fundamentals of jewelry making with an emphasis in silversmithing. Get to know the studio and become more familiar with the tools and equipment as you explore skills such as sawing, filing, soldering, piercing, polishing, & setting round cabochon stones. With technical instruction and your creativity, you will complete smaller practice projects and end with one final silver ring project that combines all the techniques learned. Practice projects include: pierced silver ring, simple layered pendant, & bezel set earring studs.
This is a great class for anyone that’s gotten a taste of jewelry making and wants to take it a step further or for complete newbies who are ready to commit and learn a new craft. Students receive free open studio time during the duration of their class along with 3 practice passes to use after the class ends. This class is limited to 5 students to ensure every student receives adequate attention. Tools and materials will be supplied. All you have to do is show up! EXPANSION: SILVERSMITHING JEWELRY 102
Spend 5 weeks advancing and refining your jewelry making skills in this follow up class to our Silversmithing 101 class. This class will reinforce everything you’ve learned in the 101 course and continue to develop your fabrication and design skills in sterling silver. You will be introduced to irregular shaped bezels, tube setting faceted stones, and hollow form construction. Along with advancing your techniques, we will also continue to push your design capabilities. All projects will have a basic template but will also allow you to let your creative flag fly!
This is a great class for anyone that’s taken our 101 course (or has equivalent experience) and wants to further their jewelry exploration. Students receive free open studio time during the duration of their class along with 3 practice passes to use after the class ends. This class is limited to 5 students to ensure every student receives adequate attention. Tools and most materials will be supplied. Prerequisite: Silversmithing Jewelry 101 or previous basic fabrication/soldering experience.
Duration: 5 weeks
Final Session: Wednesday nights, June 20th-August 1st (skipping July 4th & 18th). 6:30-9:30pm
EXPANSION: WAX CARVING 101 - RINGS
Take a more sculptural approach to jewelry making with wax carving. In this class, you will gain a complete understanding of the lost wax casting process by creating 1-2 rings in wax and finishing 1 silver casting. Students will learn basic wax carving techniques such as drafting/sizing out a ring in wax, removing/adding wax, working with different types of wax and tools, and finishing techniques for wax. One wax will be professionally cast in sterling silver which you will then learn how to clean and finish. We will also go over the casting process and talk about production methods used in jewelry making that you can use in your own practice. One silver casting is included in the course*. If you choose to work larger than sample size or would like additional casts in other metals, additional fees will apply. The class is limited to 5 students. A familiarity with basic hand tools (ex. jewelry saw, files) is ideal but not required. Beginners welcome. Students receive free open studio time during the duration of their class along with 3 practice passes to use after the class ends. Materials Included: wax to carve & 1 sterling silver casting up to 8dwt. *Additional fee will be required if heavier than 8dwt.*
Duration: 4 weeks
Final Session: Weekends. June 23rd 11am-5pm; 24th & 30th 11am - 2pm.
EXPANSION: PRIVATE JEWELRY MAKING LESSONS
We offer private jewelry making lessons ranging in skill from beginner to beginner intermediate. Lessons are tailored to your specific interest and needs. Tools and some materials are provided on a case-by-case basis depending on your request. For your first class, we recommend at minimum a 2 hour session. Additional hours can then be purchased going forward. Payments must be made in advance to secure your class time. Rates per student:
- First 2 hour session = $150
- Additional hours = $50/hour
CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY
If you need to cancel your class, please let us know one week prior to the classes's start date and you will be refunded the class cost minus a $10 processing fee. If you need to cancel within the one week prior of start date, you will be refunded 50% of the class cost. You may opt to receive studio credit in lieu of a refund as well that may be used towards another class or studio time. No refunds are given if the class is dropped after its start date. No refunds on studio time purchased. Please know, all funds are used towards class supplies and paying our teachers fairly. If you think you may end up missing a few classes, we're happy to help coordinate whatever we can to make those times up for you.
Classes may be cancelled when enrollment minimums are not reached. Cancellations begin approximately 1 week prior the first scheduled class date. In the event of a cancellation, students will be notified and will receive a full refund.
